EFAMA announces strong rebound in net sales bond funds in January 2019

On March 28, 2019 the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA)  published its latest Investment Fund Industry Fact Sheet, which provides net sales of UCITS and AIFs for January 2019. 

It can be summarized, that UCITS and AIFs recorded net inflows of EUR 28 billion in January 2019, compared to net outflows of EUR 11 billion in December 2018. Furthermore, UCITS registered net inflows of EUR 23 billion in January 2019, compared to net outflows of EUR 23 billion in December. Total net assets of UCITS and AIFs totaled EUR 15,759 billion at the end of January 2019, an increase of 3.6% compared to the end of 2018.

Bernard Delbecque, Senior Director for Economics and Research commented: “Net sales of bond funds bounced back strongly in January, against the backdrop of slower economic outlook, little inflationary pressures and lower yields“.
